The title under which Joan Riviere's 1920 English translation of Freud's Introductory Lectures was published in the United States, and the version reprinted in Great Books of the Western World. It is the same work as the Introductory Lectures, twenty-eight Vienna lectures of 1915 to 1917 covering slips and errors, dreams, and the general theory of the neuroses. Students assigned this title can read any complete translation of the Introductory Lectures.
