The rebellion continues after Shrewsbury but is ended by a trick, when Prince John promises the rebel lords redress and then arrests them once their army disperses. Falstaff, now old and ill, recruits soldiers in Gloucestershire and dines with Justice Shallow, while the sick king broods on the crown he took. Hal takes the crown from his sleeping father's pillow, is reconciled with him before he dies, and is crowned Henry V. In the last scene he publicly rejects Falstaff.
